  8.        named.restart - stop and restart the name server

  11.        This  command  sends  a SIGKILL to the running name server
  12.        and then starts a new one.

  15.        Does not check to see if the name server is actually  run-
  16.        ning,  and  could  use  a  stale  PID cache file which may
  17.        result in the death of an unrelated process.

  19.        Does not wait after killing the old server before starting
  20.        a  new  one;  since the server could take some time to die
  21.        and the new one will experience a fatal error if  the  old
  22.        one isn't gone by the time it starts, you can be left in a
  23.        situation where you have no name server at all.
